Help & FAQ

Common questions.

01 · Getting started

From Dropbox to your first gallery

The essentials for connecting Dropbox, choosing proofs and sending a client link.

How do I create a gallery?

Open New gallery, connect Dropbox if needed, then browse to the folder that contains your proofs. Give the gallery a title, choose any settings your plan includes and create it. Pique will give you a private client link to copy and send.

Which files can Pique use?

Pique imports JPG and JPEG files directly inside the folder you choose. It leaves other file types and images in subfolders out of the gallery. Clear, unique filenames make the final handoff back to Lightroom much easier.

Can Pique watermark my proofs?

Pique can show watermarked proofs, but it does not add the watermark itself yet. For now, apply your watermark when exporting the proof JPEGs from Lightroom or another editing tool, then place those files in the Dropbox folder. Pique displays them exactly as exported. New 85frames tools for preparing proofs are coming soon.

Do my clients need a Pique or Dropbox account?

No. Only the photographer needs a Pique account and Dropbox connection. A client opens the private gallery link in a browser, including on a phone or tablet.

Does Pique upload or move my photographs?

No. Your photographs stay in Dropbox. Pique records gallery details, filenames and selections, then reads the source images from Dropbox when the gallery needs to display them.

02 · Galleries

Sharing, privacy and gallery controls

What the client can see, how access works and when a gallery stops accepting picks.

Is a gallery private?

Every gallery has a long, unguessable link and is not listed publicly. Anyone who receives that link can open the gallery. Solo and Pro accounts can add a separate password or PIN when the photographs need another layer of protection.

Can I change a gallery after creating it?

While a gallery is open, Solo and Pro accounts can change its selection rule and client introduction. A gallery keeps the image list it had when it was created, so create a new gallery if the Dropbox proof set changes. Submitted, closed and expired galleries cannot be edited.

What happens when a gallery expires?

The client loses access at the date and time you set, and the gallery stops counting towards your active-gallery limit. Any draft or final picks already saved remain visible in your dashboard.

Can I close a gallery myself?

Yes. Open the gallery in your dashboard and choose Close gallery. Closing is permanent, blocks the client link and releases a place in your plan. Saved picks stay in your account.

03 · Selections

Draft picks and final handoff

How client choices are saved and how the selected filenames come back to you.

Are my client's picks saved before they submit?

Yes. Pique saves draft picks as the client works, so they can leave and return through the same gallery link. Your dashboard labels these as draft picks until the client submits a final selection.

What is the difference between exact and maximum picks?

An exact rule requires the client to choose the number you set before submitting. A maximum rule lets them submit any number up to that limit. You can also leave the selection open with no limit.

Can a client leave a note on an image?

Yes, on Pro galleries. The client can open any image, write a comment and see when it has saved. You can read saved comments in your dashboard before the client submits, and they remain attached to the gallery afterwards.

What happens after a client submits?

The selection becomes final and the gallery stops accepting changes. Solo and Pro photographers receive an email, and every photographer can view the selected filenames in the dashboard.

How do I use the picks in Lightroom?

Open the submitted gallery and copy the filename list. Solo and Pro accounts can also download TXT, CSV or JSON. Use the filenames to search or filter the matching originals in Lightroom without renaming anything.

04 · Account & billing

Plans, limits and account access

Straight answers about active galleries, plan changes and billing.

What counts as an active gallery?

A gallery counts as active while it is open or has a submitted selection. Close it manually, or let a scheduled expiry close it, to free a place for another gallery.

Can I change or cancel my plan?

Yes. Open Plan & billing in the dashboard to use the Stripe billing portal. You can update payment details, change your subscription or cancel it there.

What happens to my galleries if a paid plan ends?

Pique does not delete your existing gallery data. New galleries follow the Free plan limits. Paid settings stay saved, but features such as photographer branding and filename downloads are unavailable until the matching plan resumes.

Do clients pay to use a gallery?

No. The photographer owns the Pique account and plan. Clients can view and submit through the private link without an account or payment.

05 · Troubleshooting

When something is not working

A few checks solve most Dropbox, gallery-link and image-loading problems.

Why can't I find a Dropbox folder or image?

Check that Pique is connected to the Dropbox account that owns the folder. Images must be JPG or JPEG files directly inside that folder. If the connection changed or expired, open New gallery and use Reconnect before trying again.

Why is a client link no longer opening?

Open the gallery in your dashboard and check its status. Closed and expired galleries block client access. If it is still open, copy the client link again to rule out a missing character in the version that was sent.

Why has an image stopped loading?

Pique reads the source from Dropbox when it displays an image. A file may stop loading if it was moved, renamed or deleted after the gallery was created, or if the Dropbox connection needs to be renewed.
